A grant of nearly £1 million has been granted for a project that will bring the history of Rochester Cathedral to life.
The money will be given by the Heritage Lottery Fund, (HLF) for a scheme entitled “Ancient Stones, Untold Stories”.
It is the second time in a week that Medway has been given a massive boost from the HLF.
It recently signed a £1.8 million agreement with the Medway Preservation Society to bring the Medway Queen back to its former glory.

Lost historical features will be re-instated at the Cathedral, including a long faded fresco in the South Trancept.
This will be digitally reproduced and projected onto the wall to show how it would have looked in the Middle Ages.
Interactive family trails are to be organised, with activities that tell the story of the Cathedral.
And there will be a new guide book, together with information panels and audio guides.
Sheena Vick, Heritage Lottery Fund Manager for the South East said: “This exciting scheme takes a creative approach to unfolding the Cathedral’s past and is designed to offer something for everyone.”
