DETECTIVES are linking two incidents in which a stolen car was driven at two businesses premises.
The white Ford Fiesta is reported to have reversed into a veterinary practise in Parkwood Green, Gillingham, between 10.55pm and 11.05pm on Sunday.
Shortly afterwards the same car was driven into the front of an off licence in Walderslade Road, Chatham.
Nothing was stolen from the vets and officers are not ruling out the possibility that the property was targeted in error. Officers are waiting to hear if anything was stolen from the off-license. Extensive damage was caused to both buildings in the incident.
It is believed that two men wearing balaclavas were involved in the burglaries. The stolen Fiesta was later found burnt out in Catkin Close. The vehicle has now been seized.
Police inquiries continue and officers are in the process of investigating to see if the offence was captured on CCTV. Crime scene investigators have also scoured the area for forensic evidence.
Anyone who has witnessed either incident or have any information is asked to contact officers at Medway police station on 01634 792529 quoting reference DY/000316/08 or Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
