2 quizzed as man fights for life

A MAN is fighting for his life in a hospital's intensive care unit after being found injured in the street late at night.

The man was discovered lying in Brompton Lane at Strood. He is being treated for serious head injuries in a specialist unit at King’s College Hospital, London.

Kent Police have not named the man who was found at about 11.30pm last Thursday. Part of the road was cordoned off by police until the following morning and the man was taken to Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital before being transferred to the London hospital.

A police spokesman said: “Two men from Strood have been arrested and are being questioned. Investigations are under way and the road is being treated as a crime scene.”
