Here, we’ve profiled 20 of Last Chance Animal Rescues’ adorable pooches in Kent who are desperate to find their forever homes…
Barney, 2, Jack Russell Terrier and chihuahua mix
Barney is an affectionate young dog who loves to have a fuss.
The two-year-old Jack Russell Terrier and chihuahua mix has had an unsettled start to life as his original owner became unwell and was unable to care for him anymore.
He came into the rescue with his brother Patch but they will need to be rehomed separately due to squabbling.
Barney loves to play with his toys and loves to chase a tennis ball – but hasn’t learnt how to bring it back yet.
He will need to be the only pet in his new home and won’t be able to live with cats or small animals due to having a high prey drive.
He is looking for an owner who will be able to give him the training and attention he needs, as well as a very active home.
Patch, 2, Jack Russell Terrier and chihuahua mix
Patch came into the rescue with his brother Barney after his owner was unable to care for him due to illness.
The two-year-old loves to have zoomies and will run rings around you when he is excited, so will need a secure garden to be able to do this safely.
He will need to be the only pet in the home and will need an active owner as he is very energetic.
Betty, 6, Yorkshire Terrier cross
Betty is a six-year-old Yorkie who loves to play fetch is very friendly with people.
She came into the rescue as the other dog in the home was attacking her, so she will need careful socialising with other dogs.
She is looking for someone who will be able to give her a stable and loving home and will not be able to live with other pets.
Her new owner will need to be understanding and patient as she can be very vocal in the home - barking at passing traffic, places and loud noises.
Melon, six months, cockapoo
Melon is a sweet cockapoo who came to the rescue from a Welsh pound.
She is between five and six-months-old and extremely friendly - she’s desperate for a fuss but a little nervous.
She is looking for a quiet home where she will be given the time to come out of her shell.
Melon will not be able to be removed with young children as the rescue has no history on her.
Mango, 6 months, Jack Russell Terrier
Mango is a very happy six-month-old Jack Russell Terrier.
She is looking for an active home and will need further training and socialising.
Ian, 4, Jack Russell Terrier cross
Ian is a very lively and bouncy dog who has been known to jump 5ft fencing.
The four-year-old is looking for an active home with a very secure garden.
His new owner will need to have lots of time for walking and training - Ian is the perfect dog is you want to keep fit.
Maisie, age unknown, lurcher mix
Maisie is a sweet lurcher mix who takes a little bit of time to get confident around other people and dogs.
She is looking for a home with no other pets, and the rescue believes she would be okay with visiting children.
Bubba, Gump, Annabelle and Lily, 11 months, Labrador cross
This group of labradors is looking for their forever home after their owner had to hand them into the rescue due to becoming homeless.
They are all very loving and at 11 months old they still act like big babies.
Each of them can be strong on the lead so will need further training and socialising.
Ideally, they would be rehomed in pairs but will be able to be rescued separately.
Sally, 1-2, lurcher cross
Sally is a sweet young dog who is looking for a very active home.
She can be shy at first and will not be able to live with any young children as the rescue does not know her previous history.
Her new owners will need to be able to provide her with further training and socialising as she is quite strong on the lead.
Lulu, 5 months, lurcher
Lulu is an energetic lurcher who is looking for a very active home.
The five-month-old gets on with other dogs however can sometimes be very full-on when playing.
She will not be able to be rehomed with young children or cats as the rescue has no history on her.
John, 1-2, Jack Russell Terrier and chihuahua mix
John is a cheeky young Jack Russell Terrier and chihuahua mix who loves exploring and going on walks.
He is between one to two-years-old and is full of beans.
Hammer, three, greyhound
Hammer is a puppy-like greyhound who loves to have zoomies.
He is a loving boy who is full of beans and great with bigger dogs.
However, he must be muzzled around small furries and will not be able to be rehomed with small animals.
Tia, 14, Shih Tzu cross
Tia is an elderly dog who came to the rescue needing a lot of TLC and is blind and slightly deaf.
The 14-year-old is looking for a nice quiet retirement home where she can get all the love she craves and deserves.
Minx, 2-3, Jack Russell Terrier
Minx is a very lively Jack Russel Terrier who loves fuss and attention.
She came into the rescue with no history, however she seems okay with other dogs.
She is very excitable and playful and is looking for an active home and owner.
Dolly Daydream, 3-5, Pocket Bully
Dolly Daydream is a happy and friendly dog who loves to play.
She is believed to be between three and five years old and is very lively.
She is looking for an adult-only home as the rescue has no history on her.
Dolly Daydream will also need further gentle training as she is not used to walking on a lead.
Reggie, 11 months, Old English Bulldog
Reggie is a lovely puppy who loves cuddles, playing and sitting on your lap.
The 11-month-old was born deaf and is now going blind which means he can often run into people and things.
He loves to play with a light-up ball as he can see it better and knows basic commands, like putting your palm in his face for him to sit.
Reggie is strong on the lead and is looking to be the only pet in the home for now, as he can be over-friendly with other dogs.
Nelly, three, French Bulldog
Nellie is a sweet and happy three-year-old who is looking for her forever home.
She came into the rescue from Wales so they have no history on her.
However, she has been okay with other dogs so far.
