HUNDREDS of veteran, vintage and classic cars and motorcycles crossed the Kent countryside to Palm Bay, Cliftonville, from Chatham Historic Dockyard.

A range of beautifully preserved vehicles gleamed in the sunshine as they took part in the 25th anniversary of the Bucket and Spade Run.

It gave motorists the chance to give their pride and joy a good long run on the open road to the coast in what is one of the favourite rallies of the year.

As well as a clifftop concourse for the cars and motorbikes there was an auto jumble, fairground, stalls and sideshows, refreshments and a market.

The run was sponsored by Caffyns Motors, Ramsgate, and is organised by the Ramsgate Old Motorcar and Motorcycle Club.
