ARMED police officers arrested three people after a man told them a weapon had been fired at him in a Kent village.

Officers from the Kent Police firearmns unit went to Cuxton, near Strood, in the early hours of this morning.

The man was only slightly injured in the incident which occurred shortly after 3am. Three people were later being questioned.

Police said an investigation was under way and that police officers, some of them armed, were likely to remain in the area for much of the day.
