£40,000 boat sinks after burglary

A BOAT on the River Medway sank after thieves stole thousands of pounds worth of fixtures and fittings.

On recovering the wreckage of the blue Monaco 36 cabin cruiser from Gillingham Marina it was revealed that the scale of the theft could have caused enough damage to make the boat sink.

The boat was worth around £40,000.
