THERE is a chance to step back through 450 years of history this weekend.

The Museum of Kent Life, Lock Lane, Sandling is holding an open day on Sunday and Kent Messenger readers will be able to get in for a special price.

Visitors will be able to see centuries old buildings which have been recreated on the site including a cottage originally built in Lenham in the 1600s and prefabricated buildings from 1911 and wander round the farmyard meeting the ducks and pigs who live at the museum.

A visit to the oast house will reveal the traditions of hop growing and brewing and the barn contains a village shop, school room and farming implements.

There will also be musicians, storytellers and face painters on hand to provide some extra fun.

The activities will take place between 10am and 4pm and the museum is open until 5pm.

Kent Messenger readers will be able to get £2 off the normal entry piece by taking along the voucher printed on page 29 of this week’s paper.
