FIVE men were arrested today when Kent Police officers executed drugs warrants at addresses in the village of Pembury, near Tunbridge Wells.
One man was held for the possession of Class A drugs, another for the cultivation of cannabis, a third for abstracting electricity and two for possession of Class C drugs.
The men were being held in custody and questioned by detectives.
Police spokeswoman Anne McCarthy said: "At one of the addresses where a warrant was carried out, officers discovered a hydroponics system and what they believe to be approximately 30 or more cannabis plants being grown in a shed in the garden.
"Officers also seized what they believe is the harvest of an earlier crop at the address."
Chief Insp Russell Nyman, of Tunbridge Wells police, said: "The warrants we executed this morning have happened as a direct result of our officers listening to the views of the local community about the issues that matter to them.
"I want residents to know that we do listen and take appropriate action. We have a very effective neighbourhood police team in Pembury and Tunbridge Wells and there will be similar operations following on from today’s to ensure we continue to work to fulfil the needs of local people."
