A POLICE patrol car out on an emergency call crashed into a tree after swerving to avoid another vehicle.

Officers heading down Maidstone Road, Chatham, had to take action to avoid a car coming out of a driveway.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: "The two officers inside were unharmed but were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital to get checked out.

"The officers were on their way to attend an emergency call and were using their lights and sirens correctly."
