After more than 100 years out of sight, a mile of scenic waterfront has at last been opened up.

Children from Bligh Junior School, Strood, have helped developers to design the walkway that now runs alongside the Rochester Riverside regeneration site, which next year will see the building of 600 new homes.

At the opening event, a time capsule was also buried, containing the youngsters' views about the area's future regeneration.
