More on KentOnline
We’ve made some changes to KentOnline today aimed at making it easier than ever to find the stories you want to read.
A number of new sections have also been introduced, based on the type of content you have told us you most enjoy reading.
The most obvious changes will be for people visiting KentOnline on a mobile device - that’s how more than 80% of you access the website.
We have given you more control over how your homepage looks by letting you decide whether you see more or less of our news, sport, entertainment or business news. You can expand or collapse the sections simply by clicking the ‘more’ or ‘less’ buttons.
Some of our newspapers have been publishing since the 1700s, and KentOnline itself was one of the UK’s first regional news networks.
We are tapping into that long history with the launch of our new Decades section, which lets you delve into our archive at your leisure.
Whether you are interested in wartime Kent, the Swinging 60s, the county’s most notorious crimes or our wild weather, Decades will be your one-stop shop for nostalgia.
You can also use our digital calendar to see every story published by KentOnline on a day of your choosing - from 2002 onwards. Want to know everything that was happening on your birthday in 2004? Now you can at the click of a button.
Our new Opinion section will bring together the best of the KM’s columnists in one place, whether that’s our respected political editor Paul Francis, outspoken Melissa Todd or some of our new faces. We want the Opinion section to truly reflect Kent’s wide range of voices and views, so you can also find out how you can contribute as a guest columnist.
Our Trending section will bring you the stories that are causing a stir across the country, whilst you can find the best in business, family, sports, leisure and entertainment news in their own dedicated sections.
Don’t forget that the website itself is only one of a number of ways you can read, watch or listen to our news.
We have a fast-growing portfolio of newsletters delivering our stories direct to your inbox. Our recent launch, The Briefing, brings you a comprehensive guide to the day ahead, and is already landing in more than 10,000 inboxes each morning.
Our Gillingham newsletter brings you the latest from Priestfield every week, Paul On Politics explores the news from County Hall while our What’s On round-up helps you plan your free time.
You can get an exclusive, early glimpse at each week’s Secret Drinker column by signing up to his newsletter, find out the latest in business news or go behind the scenes at our county’s magistrates courts to find out if anyone you know has been in the dock.
You can also listen to our daily news podcast or watch our latest video news from KMTV- either online, on Freeview or on Virgin Media. And don't forget to follow us on social - we're on Facebook, Insta, LinkedIn, Twitter and Tik Tok.
And don’t forget to tune into our hugely-popular kmfm, broadcasting direct from our Medway studios every day.
