Manager Andy Hessenthaler will be demanding a victory on Tuesday night and nothing less when Gillingham host Wycombe at Priestfield.
The visitors are riding high in League 2 but after watching another abject performance on the road, Hessenthaler (pictured) knows three points at home are a must.
"We have to win the game," he insisted. "Wycombe have a good away record so the pressure is on the boys. We’ve got to do it, simple as that.
"We are always putting pressure on ourselves at home because we have had no wins away from home. Every time we go away we come back to Priestfield and put that bit of pressure on ourselves.
"We have got three home games now, including the FA Cup game, and for me we have to win all three."
The Wycombe game is likely to come around too quickly for Hessenthaler to make any new additions to his squad.
On Saturday, Hessenthaler had eight players missing through injury including regular reserve keeper Lance Cronin, who injured his foot in training.
That meant youth keeper Daren Hawkes was on the bench at Northampton but Hessenthaler doesn’t feel the need to bring in extra cover.
"I think Lance will be fit for Tuesday," Hessenthaler said. "It’s not a long-term thing."
