It's been a year, but has the smoking ban made a difference to your life? Tomorrow marks 12 months since smoking in enclosed public places became illegal in England.
Pubs, restaurants, cafes and all communal indoor areas have all been smoke-free, with people having to go outside if they wish to light up.
Health experts say the ban has encouraged more people to kick the habit, and a survey revealed more than 400,000 smokers gave up in the last year – a 20 per cent increase on the previous year.
But the ban has had its downsides, with many pubs suffering serious drops in trade and even being forced to close as smokers opted to stay away rather than be forced outside.
