A multi-vehicle pile-up led to rush-hour delays on the A2 and the M25 this morning.

The Highways Agency reported delays on the London-bound A2 between the A2260 Pepper Hill turn-off at Gravesend and the M25 because of the accident.

It left one lane closed and long tailbacks.

Queues were also reported at the Dartford Crossing tolls because of an earlier accident which closed two lanes and required emergency repairs.
