The A2 coastbound was closed for over an hour on Monday morning after a Ford Fiesta collided with the central reservation.

The accident, outside the Gate services at Dunkirk, happened just after 8am.

No other vehicles were involved and the driver was not seriously injured.

The carriageway was closed while a recovery vehicle cleared the wreckage, causing tailbacks to Brenley Corner.

The road reopened to traffic at 9.26am.
