Faversham Town manager Ray Turner says Aaron Quain’s decision to re-join Margate wasn’t a surprise but admits he will be difficult to replace.
Things moved quickly late last week with Quain returning to Thanet for a third spell at Hartsdown Park, and was on the bench in the 2-1 defeat at Carshalton last weekend.
The Faversham Town boss (pictured) said: "He was there at the beginning of the season, but wasn’t getting too many chances, so came to us, and has got plenty of game time since.
"Aaron scored 10 goals, and is an explosive player who can suddenly turn a game and has got great ability. I got on with him well, and wish him all the best."
A 2-0 home defeat by Ryman Division 1 South leaders, Bognor Regis extended Town’s lean spell, as they conceded goals either side of half-time.
Faversham face Sussex opposition for the second successive week, with a trip to strugglers Burgess Hill on Saturday.
Turner said: "We have had a tough month and have got another ahead of us, with three Kent derbies coming up in successive weeks. Burgess Hill got a decent result at Walton Casuals on Saturday, but we have to target getting some points and will be looking to get a result down there."
Goalkeeper Rob French was sidelined resting knee problems last week, giving reserve Lewis Craddock his first team debut, while defender James Peacock is back to bolster the defence.
