ELLA Edmonson, the daughter of Ab Fab star Jennifer Saunders and The Young One’s Ade Edmonson, will appear at The Brook Theatre, Chatham tomorrow night.
After meeting and performing at the Comedy Store in the late 70s, Saunders and Edmonson Snr have spent the last 30 years making people laugh. But its Ella’s musical skills that have got her noticed.
She is currently gaining recognition as a talented songwriter and singer and will be supporting folk legends Pentangle.
Ella’s musical talents may well have come from her father who starred as the lead singer Vim Fuego in spoof heavy metal band Bad News.
Ella teamed up with Kate Rusby in 2006, when the acclaimed folk singer added vocals to her track Breathe.
Pentangle expanded the frontiers of folk in the 60s and 70s. Since then, the band’s changing line-up has continued to make groundbreaking music.
The one thing that has remained constant during this period is Jacqui McShee, with her unique and beautiful voice always to the fore.
McShee is currently backed by Gerry Conway on drums and percussion, Spencer Cozens on keyboards, Alan Thompson on bass and Gary Foote on saxophone and flute.
Tickets cost £14, folk mailing list members £13. To book contact the box office on 01634 338338 or book online at www.medway.gov.uk/theatres.
