Adam Miller is hoping that his midweek performance against Norwich has convinced boss Mark Stimson to give him a place back in the side for the Wycombe game on Saturday.
Miller (pictured) was recently subject to a loan move away from Priestfield to another League 1 side but injuries and defeats made Stimson change his mind.
"By hook or by crook when you get a chance you have to take it," said the 27-year-old. "I like to feel I have and hopefully now I can keep playing.
"I know I don’t have a point to prove. When I first came here Gillingham were in League 1 and I did the business and did what I had to do. I know I can play in this league and that’s not a problem.
"Through one reason or another, the gaffer didn’t play me but that’s his decision, he’s the manager and I have to take it on the chin.
"An injury (to Danny Jackman) has come up, it’s not ideal that I’m playing because of it but it just goes to show that if another League 1 club are in for me, then I’m doing something right."
