A young husband denied murdering his wife when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Agris Titans, of Cecil Road, Rochester, will stand trial on January 30 next year.

He is alleged to have strangled 22-year-old Edite Titane (pictured) at their home between July 30 and August 1. Her body was found on the morning of August 1.

The 24-year-old Latvian, who has a daughter aged three from the marriage, paused and smiled before entering his not guilty plea through an interpreter.

He was remanded in custody.
