POLICE searching for a thief dubbed the Milk Tray Man have released a CCTV picture of a man they believe could help with inquiries.
The so-called Milk Tray Man is believed to be responsible for three separate thefts from Co-op stores in Sheerness.
The first incident took place on Saturday, October 19, when a man dressed in dark clothing stole a box of Cadbury's Milk Tray and a box of Galaxy Silk from the shop in Queens Road, Minster.
Two weeks later, the thief is believed to have struck again at the Co-op in Main Road, Queenborough. Three boxes of Terrys chocolates were stolen shortly before 5.30pm on November 1.
Children nearby reported seeing a man in dark clothing running away from the shop. One witness also saw a man running along Queenborough station platform and into undergrowth.
The final theft took place the following day, November 2, when four more boxes of Milk Tray were stolen from the Co-op in Queens Road, Minster.
Police have CCTV pictures from all three thefts. The offender in each is a white man, aged between 30 and 40, of medium build and wearing dark clothing. Anyone with information should call police on 01795 477055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
