Could it be that I was right about Picturenosound, who I featured last week, after his impressive 5-1 win on last Saturday morning’s card.

My view that he is the new rising star of "the late strong finish" has now been further endorsed after the dog, in true fashion, trapped out in last position did about as slow a sectional time as you are likely to see here but somehow over just 380 metres still managed to get past all of the opposition to land the win.

He has now won his last three races having had nine previous runs without success and given that he is still a pup, I would strongly suggest that you watch his progress over the coming weeks.

I am always on the look-out for greyhounds that win with that little bit of class and I thought this certainly applied to Jims Journey after his win at the weekend.

Trained by Barry O’Sullivan, the dog started his racing career here in early February over 380 metres.

While, the dog did well to win twice and improve from grade A8 up to A5 level, the switch in distance to 540 metres in May has proved to be so beneficial to Jim who went straight in to grade S2 and has now won at the fourth attempt among that level of company.

So it is top grade for him next time and while he may find it difficult against the best at the moment, I have little doubt that he will keep improving.

See how he performs but more importantly, watch out for him to be dropped back down to S2 and he will certainly give you a run for your money. He will be just two years of age next month so he is going to be a decent little dog in time.

There are always dogs that you know will win races on a fairly regular basis so it is time that Stop Coding wins again.

She has finished second in her last two races and is currently in a grade that she has won in before.

She has shown good early speed in both of those races and looked unlucky to me not to win. Her starting prices were 9-2 and 4-1 which are decent odds and I am quietly optimistic that she can score next time at a similar starting price.

Unluckiest loser of the week for me was Tornaroy Tryst who led the field over 540 metres in her race to literally be caught in the last stride. This was only the dog’s third race over the distance and it should have been third time lucky. Hopefully, she will get her just rewards in her next outing.
