Chans Dream made it two wins on the trot when successful in a S4 race here over 540m on Saturday.

This victory followed on from the dog's win over the Christmas period at S5 level.

He joined Crayford trainer Barry O'Sullivan's kennels in late September, having had eight previous races at Nottingham.

The greyhound only lost his puppy status a couple of months ago and with 22 competitive races now on his record, we can expect to see further steady progression.

He has run against some decent company here and with his early pace, it is only even money in my books about him making it a hat- trick on his reappearance.

You have to have admiration for any dog that has won six from 10 races.

Trainer Julie Luckhurst has seen her December 2009 pup Chippys Chiseler make rapid progress, climbing up the grades which since just last November has seen her upgraded from level A7 to the expected A2 next time.

The dog has been a model of consistency and looks like developing into one of those greyhounds that will win here on a regular basis. It's early days but she is certainly a nice prospect.

An interesting statistic is that all eight races for her to date here have been from trap two. A change of trap when it happens may make all the difference. Whether it will be beneficial, we will have to wait.

You never know what to expect from We Never Knew and in hindsight, her name is entirely appropriate after she romped to victory in a fast time of 23.96sec in a bottom grade A8 race at the weekend. What you never know is exactly what she might do - it is very much a case of which We Never Knew will turn up at the races.

A week earlier she had missed her break completely and recorded a slow time of 25.12 or, if you prefer, some 14 and a half lengths slower in running on the clock.

Go back to last April and you will find a 23.66 win time on her card in an A6 race.

In simple terms, you should be conscious of what she is capable of when she gets it right. Trap three is her box and grade A7 well within her scope. If she gets both when she races again, the writing could well be on the wall.

There is no point sitting on the fence, however, so I will suggest she will show her opponents a clean pair of heels.
