So, have you been backing those greyhounds with the Lordsbury prefix as I recommended a fortnight ago?
If you have, then you would have had the following winners: Lordsbury Berry 4-1, Lordsbury Mango 9-4, Lordsbury Thirsk 5-2, Lordsbury Richt 7-4 and 5-2, Lordsbury Sligo 3-1, Lordsbury Pepper 4-1, Lordsbury Chino 5-1 and Lordsbury Hazel 11-10.
Proves that you can do a lot worse than follow such dogs that share a prefix!
In addition, one of my five dogs to follow who performed well last month, Hot Stepper, romped home at a decent 7-1 last Saturday.
I recently did a piece on Tarsna Inca after the dog announced her arrival here by winning an open race over 540metres.
She clearly has, as I thought, that bit of class and proved it at the weekend when winning her A2 race – this time over 380m.
I am beginning to wonder now if I underestimated just how good she is.
Whatever your take, the best guide is the clock so note that her 23.38sec in the A2 on Friday was some four lengths quicker than that of the previous race won by Crossfield Jack (23.69) in a top-grade A1.
Had Tarsna been in that race, she would have won.
I for one can’t wait to see her next time out, presumably in an A1 race. She could be very good.
What Friday’s times also showed is that the performances of two other race winners, Oghill Dash and Katies Request, should also be noted. When your A1 winner does 23.69 you have to take seriously just how good the 23.74 and 23.78 times by those two dogs are.
Oghill Dash has been climbing the grades since his arrival here last November. He has moved from A7 to A4 and registered a couple of times similar to that at the weekend.
He is indifferent when exiting the traps, but if he gets it right in the expected A3 he will be hard to beat.
Katies Request won just her third career race here in a scintillating 23.78 in her puppy event.
Having had little chance here in her first two races – she was bumped on the run-up on her debut followed by a missed break from the traps – it was third time lucky.
Given her current level of A5 you would have to fancy her chances next time out.
