Volkswagen’s new Amarok pick-up is making its UK debut at the 2011 Outdoors Show at the ExCel exhibition centre.
The event, which takes place at London’s Docklands until Sunday, which will see the standard pick-up and the limited edition Berghaus model shown in the UK for the first time.
Volkswagen expects the Amarok’s appeal to be boosted by the largest load dimensions in its class. The technology and safety systems are not usually associated with this sector such as Electronic Differential Lock, Anti-Slip Regulation, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control and off-road ABS.
Specialising in all aspects of outdoor pursuits and experiences, the Outdoors Show is now in its tenth year, and 2011 marks the event’s first visit to the capital. More than 125,000 visitors are expected to pass through the doors during the show.
Created in collaboration with the outdoor clothing specialists, the California Berghaus limited edition model will be available with a 2.0-litre BiTDI 180PS engine. Boasting standard equipment to include a bike rack, awning, Berghaus-branded carpet mats and waterproof seat covers, it also has exclusive 18-inch two-colour ‘Dakar’ alloy wheels.
The Amarok goes on sale in the UK in spring.
