A CAR caught fire and a tractor went through a brick wall after a crash at Seven Mile Lane, Wrotham Heath, near the junction with the A20.

Police say a silver Renault Megane was in collision with a black and yellow JCB agricultural tractor pulling two trailers carrying manure.

The Megane caught fire and the tractor went through the wall and two hedges, coming to a stop in a garden. A gas main and a telegraph pole were also damaged in Tuesday's incident.

Both drivers suffered very minor injuries that did not require hospital treatment.

There was considerable disruption to traffic in the area while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police received a call to the scene just after 7.20am. The road was cleared shortly after 10am.

PC Elizabeth Moore, who attended the collision, said: “Albeit that the collision caused considerable disruption to traffic in the area it is quite incredible that no-one was seriously injured.”
