2 released after car hits teenagers

TWO men arrested after a car struck a group of teenagers outside a Kent police station have been released.

Four teenagers were injured, two seriously, in the incident in Rainham at around midnight last Friday.

Police say a group of 17 and 18-year-olds had a altercation with a group of people in a car at the back of a shopping precinct.

Officers say the teenagers ran away from the car which followed them down the A2 towards Chatham. As the car reached Rainham Police station it hit four of the group.

Two of the teenagers were in a serious but stable condition at Gillingham's Medway Maritime Hospital. One was treated for injuries to his arm and the other for facial injuries and a broken leg. The other two boys were treated for cuts and bruises.

The two men arrested and later released live in the Medway area. One in his 40s and the other in his 20s.
