6 of the best decorated pubs in Kent this Christmas

Pubs are festive even without decorations but of course, those who put the effort in make it feel even more like Christmas are highly appreciated.

So, we have found six of the best decorated taverns in Kent, with fairy lights, Christmas trees and tinsel galore.

The Vine Inn, Tenterden

Tyler's Kiln, Canterbury

Covered in lengths of twinkling lights, this pub is the epitome of festivity.

Just outside Canterbury, Tyler's Kiln is drenched in the warm glow of the little lights, draped over the roof, window frames and surrounding trees and shrubbery.

The tavern is also getting into the Christmas spirit by inviting lonely people in for a free hot drink and shortbread to have sat around the fire.

The Vine Inn, Tenterden

This pub has used vines from the garden to make a beautiful archway over the front door, so visitors feel festive before they even walk inside.

White leaves, foliage and fairy lights have been intertwined with the branches, the look finished with silver baubles.

The frosty theme continues inside, with more white twinkling lights, branches topped with fake snow and an abundance of other festive decorations.

Chaser Inn, Shipbourne, Tonbridge

The huge, grand dining room of the Chaser Inn, with its impressive wooden beams, is already rather festive.

But the staff have added even more Christmas magic by draping lights high above the tables and weaving them between the hotchpotch of framed pictures mounted on the walls.

With oak panelling, a log burner keeping the pub toasty warm, and candles atop the tables, this pub is probably as festive as you can get.

Christmas parties will even get an extra special gift of a Santa hat to wear home.

The Cricketers Inn, Meopham

A cosy little tavern, Cricketers Inn becomes even more so as the festive season begins, with the help of some delightful decorations.

Tinsel, fairy lights and paper chains surround punters as they enjoy a pint or warming glass of wine.

Staff have also jumped on board the 'elf on a shelf' craze, adopting one of the long-limbed toys, who is sometimes caught hugging a bottle of spirit.

Run by the same company as Chaser Inn, Christmas party guests also received red and white hats alongside a delicious meal.

The Ship and Lobster, Gravesend

This humble tavern, sitting right on the banks of the River Thames, has a kind of retro Christmas feel about it.

It may not have ornate features or fancy furniture but it is a fine example of a lovely local pub with plenty of authenticity.

With the simple addition of some twinkling lights and a tree heavily adorned in tinsel and baubles, angle propped on top, it becomes rather magical.

Pelham Arms, Gravesend

The flat roof of the Pelham Arms has become home to a display of glowing presents and festive trees - the largest topped with a bright, shiny star.

Pretty blue lights hang from the roof like icicles and the branches of a tree in the back garden have also been blanketed in the tiny, twinkling bulbs.

Passers-by cannot miss it and probably won't be able to resist popping in for a drink.
