BURGLARS stole about 6,000 pills from a chemist in Gillingham after getting in through a roof.

Medway Police are appealing for information after the theft in Duncan Road, which happened between 7pm on Wednesday and 9am on Thursday.

The burglars managed to get into the chemist by removing a perspex panel in the roof of the conservatory at the back of the shop. Once they had gained access, they forced a security roller shutter using a spade.

Diazepan, Nitrazipan and Dihydrocodeine were taken along with a cashbox.

Anyone who may have information in connection with the theft is asked to contact Medway Police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
