Firefighters managed to stop a fire from spreading to a house when a car burst into flames on a driveway.

Two pumps from Strood were called to the address in Christmas Lane, High Halstow, at 3.15am on Sunday where a Volkswagen Beetle was on fire.

It took firefighters an hour to put out the blaze which was close to fencing and trees.

The fire is not believed to have been started deliberately
