THE hunt is on to find a pilot whose dangerous stunt could have caused disaster.
The astounding "prank" left eyewitnesses gasping in horror after they saw a light aircraft flown at speed towards the M2 bridge over the River Medway.
The pilot took a quick dive and flew under the bridge as a boat was passing through, before doing a speedy circuit and carrying out the dangerous manoeuvre a second time.
Eyewitness Paul Lambert was on board his boat in Cuxton Marina when he saw the plane heading towards the M2 bridge.
Mr Lambert said: "I thought the plane was coming down – he was in trouble and going to crash.
"I felt sick as he went under the bridge because if he had hit it there could have been a disaster."
