Poised Success put in an eye-catching run on last Thursday afternoon’s card when romping home by more than four lengths in her A5 race over 380 metres.
This performance was significant given that on the same afternoon, we had some of our top class dogs running over the same distance in the Eaggstravaganza series.
Ryves Rock, who is one of our fastest dogs, recorded 23.68 seconds in his race and is a top grade A1 greyhound.
This puts into perspective just how good the 23.88 by Posed Success was.
This was no fluke as the dog has recorded similar times on no fewer than six times before so she could be a good thing on her next run.
Boherash Realta is a dog that has caught my interest since joining Jean Liles kennels here in January.
On paper, there appears to be no particular reason for the interest. However, sometimes you get the feeling that a dog could prove to be the progressive type and this has been the case with her.
The dog has had four races here to date and won three times moving up from grade A6 to A4 and I am expecting her to continue to climb up the grading ladder.
What she possesses is that turn of early pace, which is a must here and when she gets it right, she is fast away from the traps.
Following on from my report on the recent auction here of Irish greyhounds, I thought that a progress report would be timely. Droopys Marinho, who was the star of the auction, has been here twice for trials and continues to show why he was the pick of the 50 dogs which were up for sale.
On auction day he recorded the fastest time and the same has applied on both visits here for his trials. He has bags of potential and is one to look out for.
My own purchase has managed to do the grading time but needs now to win a trial to get onto the race card. More on her to follow.
Royal Posh and Frontiers, who I also had my eye on at the auction, have both managed to do the required times and the former has won a trial so we can expect her to be racing soon.
Frontiers will win a trial soon and will join her as one to keep an eye on when they make their debuts.
