Andy Hessenthaler has distanced himself from the managerial vacancy at his former club Gillingham.

The Dover manager said: "I’m not surprised by the speculation - I spent 10 years at Gillingham. My phone was going crazy with calls and texts from Gills fans wanting me to go back.

"I have never hidden my desire to get back into full-time football and the football league, but I have a five-year plan at Dover and that is all I am thinking about.

"I have had no contact from Gillingham or anyone else."

Would you like Hessenthaler back at the Gills? Comment below.
