Gillingham manager Andy Hessenthaler was thrilled by his side’s first half display at Aldershot on Saturday.

He claimed the first 45 minutes, which saw the Gills go two goals ahead, was the most complete performance of the season so far.

Goals from Frank Nouble and Chris Whelpdale gave the Gills a commanding first half advantage and they went on to win the game 2-1.

Speaking to the media after the game, at the EBB Stadium, Hessenthaler also spoke frankly following Luke Rooney’s ommision from the squad.
