FISHING equipment worth thousands of pounds has been stolen by intruders from an address at Snodland, near Rochester.

Police say that between 5pm on Sunday, June 4, and 8am on Monday, June 5, thieves entered a building in Brook Street.

A spokesman said: "The equipment stolen is thought to be worth between £5,000 and £10,000. Also stolen was a Playstation 2 console, without controllers.

"A metal shutter on the front door was damaged when the offenders tried to force it off to gain access."

Anyone or knows of someone with a large collection of recently acquired fishing gear is asked to contact PC Patrick McCartan on 01622 604185 or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
