A bigamy case against a 40-year-old prison officer has been dismissed.

Andrew Scott, of Wickham Close, Newington, appeared at Sittingbourne Magistrates Court last Thursday accused of marrying Valerie Arnold while still married to Alfrey Johns.

The Sheppey prison officer was arrested after returning from his honeymoon last year.

The case was dismissed by Magistrates when no evidence was offered by the prosecution.
