The family of a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash on the Old Thanet Way last week have paid tribute to him.
Bryn Williams, 42, died after his black Kawasaki motorbike collided with a car at the junction with Flamingo Drive at 6.17pm on Thursday 13 October.
Mr Williams, a customs officer, lived with his wife Lisa and stepson Lloyd Quigley in Great Mongeham near Deal.
Lloyd said: "Bryn was a great guy with a big heart and his death has left a huge hole in our lives. He was like a father to me."
Lisa added: "We are devastated by Bryn's death - he was such a big and calming influence in our lives. But we have been overwhelmed by the support we have had from friends and family."
Born in North Wales, Mr Williams started his working life as a bricklayer before joining The 3 Battalion, The Parachute Regiment, and was based at Dover's Connaught Barracks.
Most recently, he worked as a freight customs officer for the UK Border Agency, based at the Port of Dover.
Motorbikes were his passion and he was an experienced motorcyclist who had ridden bikes all his adult life.
His family are now urging any witnesses to the crash to come forward and talk to the police.
Lloyd said: "Although it won't bring Bryn back, knowing exactly what happened last Thursday will give us peace of mind and we ask anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police. They might not think what they saw was important, but it could make a big difference to the investigation."
Detective Sergeant Miles Bishop of the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "Mr Williams was riding his motorbike along the Old Thanet Way towards Whitstable and the Seat was turning out of Flamingo Drive when the collision happened.
"We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to call us. We would particularly like to hear from the driver of a red Ford Fiesta who, although we don't believe was involved in the collision in any way, may be an important witness."
Bryn's funeral will be held at Barham Crematorium at 4pm on October 27.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit appeal line on 01622 798538.
