A 87-year-old woman has become the victim of bogus callers who stole £200 from her home in Minster, near Sheerness.
The pensioner was said to be greatly distressed by the incident which happened between 4pm and 5pm on Saturday, December 28.
PC Mark Silk, of Swale police, said he believed a distraction technique was used to allow a man and a woman to gain access to the woman's home.
He advised vulnerable people: "If you have a door viewer, always use it and make sure the security chain on your door is left on. If you do not have a security chain it is advisable to invest in one.
"It is important to always check the identification of any caller, and if you are not happy with the response, telephone the company they claim to be from."
