A YOUNG mother standing outside a shop with her baby had a bottle thrown at her from a passing car.

The 18-year-old received a slight cut to her finger when a shard of glass hit her after the bottle shattered. The teenager's 11-month-old baby, who was in a pram, was unharmed.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident in Delce Road, Rochester, between 9.20pm and 9.30pm last Friday to come forward. The car is described as a dark green Ford Fiesta.

PC Chris Curtis said: "This incident could have been particularly nasty." Anyone with information is urged to contact Medway Police on 01634 884252 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
