A SIX-year-old boy could become one of the youngest children to be expelled from school in the county.

Callum Walton started at St James the Great Primary School, East Malling, two years ago.

His mother Claire Walton, of Lavender Road, East Malling, claims she has struggled to gain support from the school.

Miss Walton, 27, was told of the school's intention to exclude Callum when she collected him on Monday afternoon. The school, she said, claimed it had no choice but to expel after a string of incidents.

She said: "I turned up and was told he had been in isolation all day and had only been allowed out to get his lunch and then go back into the room.

"I think this is an awful thing to do to a six-year-old boy."

She added: "He's not an angel, but are any six year olds?"

A Kent County Council spokesman said: "We cannot comment on individual cases of exclusion currently being considered by the governing body."
