Kent is bracing itself for high winds tomorrow.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning of a "small chance" of injury or danger to life from flying debris or large waves in coastal areas.

The very windy spell is expected to last throughout the day.

Southeastern has warned of possible delays on its train network and is advising anyone intending to travel on Sunday to allow extra time for their journey.

A spokesman for the rail company said: "High winds and heavy rain are forecast to affect the south east on Sunday 23 September.

"Southeastern is expecting to run trains on all routes (except those affected by planned engineering work), with no Network Rail speed restrictions currently planned. However, there may still be delays to some journeys due to the weather conditions.

"Our operational teams are keeping a close eye on the forecast, and will provide additional updates when more information is available.

"We would advise passengers planning to travel with us on Sunday to check before they travel, and to allow extra time for their journey."

The Met Office has also warned of a slight possibility of power cuts with the potential to affect other services, including mobile phone coverage.
