GEORGINA CHANDLER: died instantly

A GIRL killed when the car she was driving crashed near Maidstone during the Easter holiday has been named as 17-year-old Georgie Chandler.

Georgie, a student at Maidstone Girls' Grammar School, was alone in the car when it hit a pedestrian bridge support in Aylesford. She died instantly.

Georgie's mother and stepfather, Karen and Ian McDonald, from Ditton, were on their way to a break in the New Forest when the tragedy happened. Her father, Leslie Chandler, also from Ditton, was the first to be informed.

In a statement, the family said: "Georgie was loved by all who knew her." The deputy head teacher at her school, Dr Anne Arnold, said: "She was an out-going and bubbly girl with a very bright future ahead of her."

Any witnesses to the accident are asked to contact PC Tony Howland on 01622 608061.
