POLICE across the county have launched a campaign to reduce burglaries.

The crackdown will see officers out on operations targeting known and suspected criminals.

As part of the drive, they will be carrying out high profile patrols in areas with higher burglary rates. They will also be offering advice on how people can keep their homes and belongings safe.

Leaflets are available from police stations telling homeowners how to keep out intruders.

He stressed: “We will continue to use all the powers available to us to put thieves before the courts.”
