A motorway was closed after a car burst into flames.

Traffic was stopped on the M20 London-bound at Junction 7 near Detling, Maidstone, at around 1.09pm after a vehicle caught light.

Fire crews were called and two engines were dispatched.

No injuries have been reported.

Crews left the scene at just before 1.40pm and the road has since reopened with traffic slowly returning to normal.

Police have also been asked for a comment.
