A PURPLE Austin Rover was deliberately set alight by arsonists early today while it was parked in Manor Road at Rushenden, near Sheerness.

Police and firefighters say the incident occurred sometime between 4am and 4.30am. The car, estimated to be worth about £500, was burnt out. Witnesses, or people with any other information, are urged to contact Kent CrimeStoppers on 0800 555111.
