A MOTORIST suffered minor injuries this morning in a collision with a truck on the A249 at the junction with the Detling Aerodrome estate.

The carriageway was closed by police for a short period following the accident which happened at about 8.35am.

The incident was close to the spot of an accident last month when a road contractor was seriously injured after he was knocked down while putting out traffic cones.

* A speed camera used to enforce 40mph speeds while resurfacing work is carried out on the A249 was torched early on Monday morning.

Kent County Council confirmed a flammable substance had been used to set alight the camera, one of four currently in place between Detling Hill and Stockbury.
