POLICE are investigating after a rag was set alight and placed into the petrol tank of a parked Vauxhall Carlton car.

The incident happened in Shorts Way, Borstal, near Rochester, a quiet, built-up area.

One fire engine attended the scene late on Tuesday evening to bring the flames under control.
