The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dog was kicked so badly by two youths in Chatham that it died from its injuries the following day.

Bailey, an 11-year-old Golden Retriever, was being taken for a walk by a friend of his owner in Albany Road, Chatham, between 1.30pm and 2pm on December 17, when he trotted slightly ahead and was met by two youths who started to kick him.

Bailey limped back to his walker and was taken straight to a vet but was suffering from broken ribs and a punctured lung and died the next day.

The RSPCA is looking for the youths who attacked him. They are both aged about 18 years and white and of medium height.

RSPCA Inspector Alana Chapman said: "This was a horrific, totally out of the blue attack.

"We would like to hear from anyone with any information on this."

Anyone who knows anything is asked to contact the RSPCA in confidence on 03001234999.
