Drivers face delays as a large section of the coastbound A2 is closed for two nights from tonight.

The resurfacing works mean the trunk road will be closed between the M2 junction at Brenley Corner and the A28 for Wincheap crom 8pm to 6am tonight and tomorrow.

Diversions will be set up via the A251 to Ashford and the A28.

High vehicles heading for Canterbury from the diversion route will be sent onto the A2 to use the eastern A2050 access to the city centre.

Although the coastbound A2 has been closed near Canterbury over the last two weeks, these two closures are extended and have longer diversion routes.
