Kent weather: Colder temperatures on the way thanks to winds from the north

After a mild start to 2022, forecasters say it's going to feel much colder in Kent this week.

Winds from the north will see temperatures struggle to get into double figures.

Last Friday was the warmest New Year's Eve on record with the Met Office recording a high of 15.8C in parts of the country.

It followed what had been described as a “much milder” December than usual.

However, despite the warm temperatures it is expected the month will be one of the dullest on record with very little sunshine.

This week will feel very different however with a cold snap on the way.

According to the Met Office, tomorrow will start off cloudy with the chance of some wintry showers.

While it'll turn brighter in the afternoon it'll be windy with highs of just 5C.

We could wake up to frost on Wednesday, there'll be some rain around on Thursday before another sunny day on Friday - but it'll remain chilly.
